What we don't use
- No analytics, advertising or tracking cookies
- No advertising or third-party marketing cookies
- No cross-site tracking of any kind
WhaleWatch records limited first-party product events on its own server, including aggregate page views, section engagement, approximate click targets, scroll depth, registrations, reminders and wallet follows. A temporary identifier exists only while a page is open and is not stored in a cookie or reused on a later visit. IP addresses are not stored with these events.
Why there's no cookie banner
EU rules require prior consent for non-essential cookies and similar browser storage. The session cookie is necessary to provide login, and the onboarding flag stores only your completed-guide choice without tracking you across sites. We therefore do not currently show a consent banner. If we add analytics, advertising or other non-essential browser storage, we will ask for your consent first and update this page.
Managing the cookie
You can delete the session cookie any time in your browser settings — you will simply be logged out. Logging out also removes that cookie. Clearing WhaleWatch site data removes both the cookie and the onboarding preference.
